CPF Volunteer Award -

We are pleased to announce the second annual opportunity to participate
in the new award that honors CPF Volunteers. The CPF Volunteer Award will be presented at the 2010 National Convention to a volunteer who has given exemplary service to Canadian Parents for French and has played a remarkable role in supporting the goals and vision of our organization.

"Petit Monstre" to be performed in Wakefield -

Petit Monstre is set early one Sunday morning, as a little girl's mother is away at the hospital and her father desperately wants to sleep in. But she's more determined to wake him up to play. It's a tender and hilarious look at the both the joys and challenges of parenting.

Fall Conference - 2007 -

Our fall conference is taking place Saturday September 29th at CPE Lachine, 2890 Notre Dame in Lachine. The agenda is as follows:

9:00 am  - CPF Quebec AGM - financial report, appointment of auditors, election of board.

10:15: Health Break

10:30: Dr. Fred Genesee 'French Immersion - Suitable for all students'

Philemon Wright High School Student Places Second at Concours national - 2007-05-29


CPF held its Concours national d’art oratoire 2007 French second language public speaking contest last Saturday, May 26th at the University of Ottawa.

Canada’s best French second language public speakers competed in five categories for $20,000 scholarships offered as grand prizes from the University of Ottawa.  Secondary V Philemon Wright High School student Hayley Miloff placed second among provincial champions from coast to coast in the Core French category.  In addition, Seharish Noor Khan from Pierrefonds Comprehensive High School on Montreal West Island placed third in the Early French Immersion category.

CPF-Québec would like to congratulate all Quebec students for their courageous performances at this national competition and looks forward to Concours 2008.




Join The Society for Educational Visits and Exchanges in Canada (SEVEC) and the Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers (CASLT) on November 2-3 in Gatineau, Quebec, at a first Teacher/Youth linguistic duality forum - 2007-06-08


Are you committed to linguistic duality and cultural diversity?

Do you wonder how to engage your students form diverse backgrounds in the linguistic duality dialogue?

Do you want to work with youth to explore creating a culture of bilingualism at your school?

Would you support youth action on bilingualism in your community?

Participants will network with other young people and teachers and develop action plans for their own communities.

Teachers will participate as supportive adults to enhance the dialogue and offer support at the school/ community level after the event.

We are looking for groups of 1 teacher and 2 students from 12 schools across the country, who are prepared to work together on school/community initiatives.
