INM’s Summer School is an event which gathers every year more than 800 young Quebecers between the ages of 15 and 35, as well as a few dozen international participants. Set in a festive atmosphere, this civic event combines educational, deliberative, recreational and artistic activities. The Summer School encourages dialogue between the participants and society’s decision makers. It also helps develop participants’ judgment and their ability to voice their concerns about issues important to them. The Summer School allows youth to express their views on society and the world in which they want to live. |

|
CPF-Quebec is teaming up with two camps this summer to help them provide French learning opportunities while they deliver their fun and exciting programs. The Chelsea French Immersion camp is for children aged 5 - 11, and takes place at the Chelsea Elementary School for two different weeks. The theme of the first week is living in harmony with nature, and the theme of week two explores cultural celebrations from around the world. Chelsea is also offering bilingual camps in the arts and filmmaking. For more info go to their website, or contact Rafaëlle Devine at 819-827-1124, ext. 250. The Wakefield Bilingual Film Camp will assist young French and English speakers as they write, film, edit, score and present two video shorts in 5 days. Everyone gets an opportunity to work with professional equipment, as well as composition of the sound track, acting, continuity and all the jobs involved in film making, all while getting real life practice in their second language. The camp runs from August 16 - 20. For more info, go to their website or contact Brenda Rooney. |
